Eunsoo Lee, Managing Director, Hyundai Construction Equipment India Pvt. Ltd. talks about the company’s preparation for bC India 2018 and the growing excavator market in India

  1. The Government is making favorable policies to support the infrastructure growth in India as part of reform. So, what doors it opens for Construction Equipment sector?

The recent growth in the equipment sector can be linked to the quantum of infrastructure related investment required, and that has been backed up by central budget and private investments. The major policy reforms like GST and demonetization have actually made it possible. In addition, government’s focus on priority sectors like roads and highways, urban and rural infrastructure, housing for all, smart cities are also the key growth drivers for CE sector.

  1. How do you see the growth of Excavators in the Indian CE market?

 Excavator is one of the primary and crucial equipment for any construction activity. The year 2018 is likely to close at more than 26000 units of excavators, and it’s deemed as all-time high sales. Hyundai takes pride to be one of the leading companies gaining volumes and market share across segments and geographies. Hyundai has plans to scale up its existing production capacity from 6000units to more than 10000 units annually; to cater to the growing demand of domestic and export market.

Research and Development contributes to sustainability of organization including ours. Hyundai has been consistently investing in R&D to develop new technologies and innovative solutions to reaffirm its position and be a trusted solution provider to look for.

One common technology being talked today across product segment is telematics and Hyundai is very glad to share that our products also features same. If you look into Hyundai Hi-Mate technology it offers a wide range of features that many of brands do not offer, like one of key element is fuel consumption which contributes more than 60% of operation cost. Also to add the operation history of machine is available to customers which helps him to make smart business decision.

India is a very distinct market where we will get to see and experience new developments being implemented very rapidly. The equipment industry is planned to be brought under new regulation in the next 2 years. This revolutionary step will get to change the way we look into products. Also adding to new engine emission regulation, higher level of safety standard is also being explored. Apart from regulatory reforms, Hyundai is also working on technology to enhance the product efficiency and productivity.

  1. Tell us about your preparations for bauma conexpo India. What excite you about this show?

Bauma ConExpo as it moves in its 5th edition is getting bigger. Hyundai Construction Equipment India Pvt. Ltd.  has planned to leverage the platform to showcase its technologically advanced line of products catering to construction equipment and material handling industry. We invite all the readers of this publication to come and experience Hyundai ground breaking and Innovative technology in Bauma. Hyundai SMART series and 9-series excavators will be one of major attractions with new improvements, also we plan to add new wheeled product in our family through this platform. Apart from products we would also showcase Hyundai technology on solutions like Hi-mate and Virtual reality to all our visitors. The most existing thing about the show is that it is the biggest exhibition in Northern India and this gives us an opportunity to get closer to customers from the region.
