India’s ambitious road and highway development plans have been further enhanced with the recent Budget announcement. Road construction equipment will continue to be in demand in the years to come. Problems with financing and liquidity however, continue to be a challenge for the industry. The Government needs to step in and help the sector to deliver on its plans.
Putzmeister offers a range of concreting equipment to support India’s road construction plans – Batching Plants, Transit Mixers, Concrete Pumps and Shotcrete equipment for tunnel construction. We have over 60 years of experience in providing construction solutions to our clients, and a deep commitment towards continuous R&D. Putzmeister invests 5% of its annual turnover in R&D to ensure that we deliver products that have higher productivity, are reliable, easy to operate, low on maintenance and can withstand prolonged and harsh use. This helps our customers to deliver projects effectively and profitably.
To highlight a few examples: Our Stationary Concrete pumps are designed with fewer parts as compared to other OEMs – so even when inevitable replacement is required, it costs lesser. Our truck mounted concrete pumps are put through tests that simulate 15 years of field operation to ensure a long service life. Our fully automated 120 m3/hr Batching Plant is designed to deliver on its promise of a true output of 120 m3/hr. Our shotcreting equipment like the SPM 4210 Wetkret come equipped with control systems that help monitor and manage the functioning and security of the pump remotely.
Safety is of course very important to us at Putzmeister. Our machines are equipped with features that protect not just the operator and people on the jobsite, but also the environment. We back this up with through training on handling our equipment at the jobsite in a safe and responsible manner. We will soon be introducing telematics on our equipment – this will help fleet owners monitor the usage and status of their equipment real time and streamline fault diagnosing.
Putzmeister offers not only the most suitable equipment, but also the best service and application support to help our customers get the most out of their equipment and improve their profitability. We have a higher ratio of service engineers and technicians per customers to ensure that our customers’ needs are addressed promptly – 90% of our service cases are resolved within 24 hours. We also offer an operations and maintenance service for the more challenging projects – customers can free up vital resources and leave the output and maintenance to our team of experts. Training is also important – we combine classroom and jobsite training to help equipment operators and site managers do their jobs effectively. We even offer simulator-based training for specialized equipment. Our wide spare parts network ensures that our customers get genuine Putzmeister spares when required.
