Major Upcoming Infrastructure Projects

Large infrastructure projects are under development or planned to uplift Mira Road’s profile.Various road and rail projects are planned to further improve Mira Road’s connectivity with other parts of the city.

 Metro Rail

An 11.38 km-long metro line from Dahisar (E) to Mira Bhayandar is under construction, a 9.2 km-long Gaimukh (Thane) to Shivaji Chowk (Mira Road) metro line has been approved and a 23 km-long metro line from Shivaji Chowk (Mira Road) to Virar has been proposed.

 Coastal Road

A 29.2 km freeway along Mumbai’s western coastline connecting Marine Lines to Kandivali. It has also been planned to extend the project to Ghodbunder Road through Bhayandar. The project is 71% complete and the first phase – connecting Marine Drive to Worli, is expected to be completed by November 2023.

MMR Ring Road

22 km Mumbai-Trans Harbour Link (MTHL), Virar-Alibaug Multimodal Corridor (MMC) stretching 128 km (which will connect to MTHL), a 5 km Vasai to Mira-Bhayander bridge and another sea link from Versova-Virar planned by MMRDA under MMR Ring Road project.
