About DYNAVIS®-formulated hydraulic fluids
DYNAVIS® is a technology for formulating hydraulic fluids which optimizes their viscosity. Fluids with constant viscosity ensure greater efficiency and less energy consumption – whether in construction equipment like excavators, wheel loaders, skid steer loaders and backhoes - in mining equipment like screening plants and dump trucks or - in industrial equipment like injection molding machines, robotics an all other types of stationary equipment using hydraulics.
Simply changing the hydraulic fluid to one formulated with DYNAVIS® technology allows nearly any hydraulically powered machine to operate more efficiently, dynamically, and accurately.

Demands for Hydraulic Fluids
So the viscosity has to be high enough to protect the equipment and to guarantee pump efficiency.
On its way from the tank to the pump, the fluid has to pass several bottlenecks like valves. Friction within the fluid itself and friction on the walls creates heat. Compression in the pump creates more heat. The heat reduces the viscosity.
Ideally the viscosity in the pump doesn't get too low to maintain power. For this reason, a fluid with a higher viscosity is normally used because it heats up and becomes thinner on its way to the pump, thus requiring more power for transportation.
Hydraulic fluids following the DYNAVIS® performance standard keep their viscosity over a broad temperature range. So they save energy, enhance performance and protect the equipment. So the viscosity has to be high enough to protect the equipment and to guarantee pump efficiency.

Cold Start
For the start-up, with a DYNAVIS® formulated fluid less power is required than with conventional fluids since DYNAVIS® fluids are designed to provide lower viscosity at the lower start-up temperature.
Running Hot
Hot hydraulic fluid can escape the "push" of the pump vanes, or pistons, and recirculate rather than be pumped out, creating internal leakage and leading to a destructive spiral of ever-increasing fluid temperature and plummeting pump efficiency. DYNAVIS® formulated fluids are designed to resist recirculation, keep heat build-up in check, maintain pump efficiency, and enable a reduction of enery consumption.
Another added benefit: The hydraulic system retains its responsiveness to the operator's control commands.
