Mumbai jointly distributed labour registration cards
CREDAI-MCHI Women’s Wing and Maharashtra Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, Mumbai jointly distributed 32 Registration cards to construction workers at Ajmera i Land, Bhakti Park, Wadala (E).This is the first time such an initiative is being implemented by CREDAI-MCHI Women’s Wing.
The Former Secretary and Chief Executive Officer Shri. S. C. Srirangam of Maharashtra Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board was the Chief Guest.Smt Nilambari Bhosale, Deputy Commissioner of Labor, Smt. Rajashri Patil, Asst Labor Commissioner (City) were the Guest of Honor. Mr. Boman Irani, President, CREDAI-MCHI, Mr. Ajay Ashar, President-Elect, CREDAI-MCHI, and Chairperson of Women’s Wing, Mrs. Mona Ajmera, Sejal Goradia Vice Chairperson , Jesal Shah, Secretary, Alka Doshi, Treasurer, Anuradha Shah, Sonal Shah were present at the event.
The Chief Guest said that There are thousands of housing units in Mumbai and MMR division, employing two to two and a half lakh worker. But the number of registered workers is only approximately thirty thousand. Therefore, the developer fraternity should take initiative for the registration of these workers as said by Shri Srirangam. This time he talked about several new schemes. He also thanked MCHI’s Women’s Wing for taking the initiative.
CREDAI-MCHI Women’s Wing is committed to register and enrol more and more labourer’s for getting their cards and providing them with the benefits of useful schemes. This was stated by Smt. Mona Ajmera, Chairperson, CREDAI-MCHI Women’s Wing.
Developers pay a 1 per cent cess for workers to avail these welfare services from the Government. The facilities they get from the government are really incredible. Shri Boman Irani, President, CREDAI-MCHI, appealed to the workers to take advantage of this. He also assured Mr. Srirangam that we will do more such programs and create awareness among the workers. And encourage them to take advantage of these plans.
Smt Nilambari Bhosale gave guidance to the labours on various welfare schemes being implemented by the government of Maharashtra. Be it security, health care for their families, financial aid or education for their children the government is committed to serve the construction workers which is the largest unorganized sector.
CREDAI-MCHI Women’s Wing performs various initiative through CSR activities, so far CREDAI-MCHI has given scholarships to deserving 186 eligible students for their education and has spent over Rs. 67 lakhs on this noble initiative. The Women’s Wing also runs various health camps for construction labours in various projects at developer’s sites in MMR and so far more than Five Thousand workers have benefited by such health camps.
CREDAI- MCHI Women’s Wing is pleased to announce that the Women’s wing will be working with Maharashtra Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, Mumbai more such camps for the welfare of laborers.
