Modern Equipment & Excellence: The Information Technology Park
Angelique has established itself as one of the fastest growing companies that takes immense care of its employees and my long association of just over a decade has been greatly fruitful.
Share with us your company profiling and latest technological advances.
Ans. The foundation stone of Angelique was laid by a thorough professional engineer entrepreneur, the late founder Chairman Shri Daya Krishna Goyal, for whom the creation of Angelique was a mission for setting up a world class EPC Company. Needless to add, it was much above merely a business venture. Angelique International Limited has achieved excellence and won accolades not only in India, but also internationally with pathbreaking projects like Nyabarongo Hydro-Electric Project, Rwanda; Afghanistan (Salma Dam); Mali – Ivory Coast inter-connection (Power Station); Sudan (power transmission line); Iraq (Power substation on hill top in Erbil); and Swaziland (IT Park).
The Information Technology Park in Swaziland is a state-of-the-art facility with most modern equipment which houses 66 smart racks national data center base for the country and an incubator for upcoming entrepreneurial skills for the young hosting data of all Government functions. It is also to become the gateway of all online functions, and on the part of the NDC, it would be prudent to collaborate with AIL in ensuring successful operations. The newly constructed park comprises of education center – named Advanced School of IT (ASIT) which is running five courses under franchisee agreement with one of renowned IT education providers (APTECH).
Give opinion on the construction sector using concepts of technology for better, smart and efficient launches to deliver promising growth potentials.
It is time construction joined hands with IT to revolutionize the way work is executed. As a fast growing trend in construction, IT is slowly shaping ideas that were once only a figment of one’s imagination. One critical aspect is the convenience it brings in terms of visualization of construction activities – an area that is rapidly establishing the relevance and value IT can deliver for the EPC industry. Broad-based economic growth is essential to sustainable, long-term development as it creates opportunities driven households to raise their living standards, as also, provides country with resources to expand access to basic services, and—most important of all—enables citizens to chart their own prosperous futures. Growth of IT sector in India will stimulate development and transform the country into an innovative land full of opportunities as well as country’s economic growth and increase capacity by developing a knowledge-based economy and infrastructure thus substantially alleviating poverty.
Discuss your future business plans and strategies.
The serious push for Infrastructure growth in India under the new leadership, surely, throws open large opportunities for EPC companies in India. However, Angelique by its very business philosophy would move in a very selective manner, both in terms of nature of jobs, geographies and the clients. Angelique would like to have a mix of up to about 20% Indian business components in the coming years. In a nutshell, the preferred areas are railways, electrical substations and transmission lines. With strength building in these areas, very calculated diversification plans will remain of interest. In India, projects have been of small value mainly consisting of low voltage transmission lines/ substation in Odissa, Madhya Pradesh and domestic power distribution projects in Rajasthan. Additionally, the work has been done on signaling of railways in various sections of Railways in India.
What are your views on the budget announced for the industry?
Speculations were rife that Budget 2018 was expected to be a populist budget. The new policies – from rural electrification to transport electrification – could reshape energy use and boost demand for electricity. The new budget from the present government is more concerned about infrastructure development, and it augurs well for us. In future, the government needs to focus on problems being faced by EPC companies, particularly those with good performance track record, in obtaining banking support. Since infrastructure space is also facing unrealistic demands from project development agencies in terms of procedural requirement, companies like Angelique would ideally want a little focus in these areas as well.
