“The next five years will continue to see much higher growth”
Pradeep Agarwal, Associate Director, Mtandt Group, talks about the role of R & D, prevailing challenges and future outlook of the CE sector
The Government is making favorable policies to support the infrastructure growth in India as part of reform. So, what doors it opens for Construction Equipment sector?
Its common knowledge by now that India needs more focus on Infrastructure growth. The government has also accorded priority for investments in Power, Ports, Transportation and public utility services. This has triggered new projects in Airports, highways and metro train services, flyovers, across the nation and as a result we are seeing a high demand for construction related equipment from the main contractors as well as subcontractors involved in execution of these projects.
R&D contributes to the sustainability of a business, given that tell us in details about versatile product line and role of R& D to beat the competition.
Our R&D team has been focusing on making our products more safe and user-friendly. One important step taken in the right direction pertains to our range of Aluminium scaffoldings which are used during the finishing activities in projects. These are, depending upon the application typicality, being customized to suit specific customers access and work at height requirements. Currently we are working with a large American MNC organisation setting up their base in India for accessing their trucks and trailers during loading activities. Our R&D team is working on a unique design to make the entire system built for quick and safe access to the heights with a view to maximise the productivity with minimum setup time. Such a proactive approach helps us to stay ahead of competition.
What are the recent trends and advances in the field of Construction Equipment sector?
The biggest challenge in the construction industry today is the speed of completion of projects. Any delay results in cost escalations and elongates the ROI periods. We offer a wide variety of machines and equipment which help in timely completion of projects. But most importantly we offer new and revolutionary products for earlier set up of terrain in new projects with the help of our ground stabilization mats. We have ushered in a new trend in projects where the time consuming procedure of laying new roads, creating special terrain for cranes and other heavy machinery to move is now a thing of the past. The project location can be made ready much earlier than before with these new systems making moving of men and machinery more convenient and easier.
How do you see the future of CE industry in India and Road ahead for the company in the next few years?
The next five years will continue to see much higher growth with new projects in all spheres of government investments taking shape. This includes modernization and building of new seaports, new airports, new power projects, increase in national highways and state highways, railways and so on.
