How have you changed your business models and strategies?

Ans. At CASE, we have always believed in being agile and adaptive. Our teams started acclimatizing to the new normal and creating new ways of working during the pandemic.

We’ve stayed in touch with our customers and potential buyers through various digital platforms and are creating newer avenues to further engage with them. Through CNH Capital, our financial arm, we’re making sure there’s enough capital available for customers who wish to make purchases. We’ve also introduced relevant schemes, for instance customers can buy our equipment and pay for the samelater.  We have come up with a 48 hour loan approval policy as well.

We’ve always gone the extra mile for our customers and even in these challenging times we are delivering parts and scheduling services keeping all the safety precautions in mind.

Case Sitewatch is also being monitored by the Case after Market team, to ensure that timely action can be taken in case of any potential disruption to working.

We’ve also ensured our dealers are up to date with the latest product training and schemes.

We’re sure that our commitment towards customers along with the quality of our products and services will continue driving the business further.

What are your views about the reshaping effects on the E&C sector?

Ans. The uncertainty of the situation, initially riddled the sector with challenges in every aspect of the business such as stock supplies, delivery & transport, production, supply chain, labor, employee safety etc. which resulted in a demand and supply derailment. In order to revive the industry multiple steps have been taken to increase the activities in the infrastructure sector. MoRTH has set a target to build 12,000 km of highways for this current financial year and has ensured that it will reduce the build-up of arbitration cases. Government has also partially released bank guarantees which will help in releasing some liquidity for contractors. Recently, NHAI also announced the removal of land acquisition hurdles which will speed up the project completion rate.

Currently, digitalization is bringing the fourth industrial revolution aka Industry 4.0 in the country. Industry 4.0 will simplify the day to day work. The businesses are accepting and adopting  new technology in their processes to fasten the production process and increase the safety in the plants.

The Centre and State Governments are also starting rural construction programs to engage migrant workers in their villages. We are confident that these measures will help in reshaping the construction sector.

Describe your recent product launches and new projects and give us some details of how they are distinguished from your pre-pandemic projects.

Ans. We’ve recently launched our first ever excavator CX 220 LC. It was launched last year at Excon 2019. The 22-ton excavator is specially designed for the Indian terrain and delivers faster cycle times and higher productivity. This is a long arm hydraulic excavator which does the job with maximum precision and efficiency and is designed for tough applications. With its closed HVAC cabin and powerful FPT engine, it is highly suitable for stone quarry, road and general construction and earthwork. Currently, we are focusing on introducing CHEX in the Indian market, for our customers use.

Give us your opinion on the business principles and motives that you apply in difficult times to make it a stepping stone towards a strong rebound.

At CASE India, our employees and customers are our number one priority.

During the pandemic we’ve made serious efforts to ensure the safety of our employees while also maintaining their productivity. For our customers, we’ve continued to provide them with parts and service support and have also introduced loan extensions, waivers and lucrative schemes for new purchases.

We also believe in being agile and adaptive which has helped us in functioning effectively in this pandemic. We drafted new protocols and policies for all aspects of our business to ensure safety and efficiency.

We feel, in such unprecedented times, its important to take stock of the situation, analyze all areas that need any intervention and then draft flexible new protocols to continue thriving.

What are your views on the changed consumer behavior and the recent trends in the industry during today’s situation?

The buyers have evolved with time and want smart machines that can increase productivity and decrease downtime. They want machines that can make their work easier and are more economical.

At CASE, we’ve identified different customer segments basis their primary needs and used this information to create specific offerings for them. For instance, usually there are two key factors while making a purchase: productivity and cost. So, for customers who are price conscious, we offer great loan offerings and lucrative interest rates. And for customers, looking for productivity, we have a diverse range of products which come equipped with advanced features and deliver efficiently. At CASE, we have reliable products and solutions that suit every customer’s needs.

In term of recent trends, currently, digitalization is bringing the fourth industrial revolution aka Industry 4.0 in the country. Industry 4.0 will simplify the day to day work by combining smart tools with traditional manufacturing. According to a report by Mckinsey, the recent tools like IoT, AI and automation, processes will help in  30 to 50% reduction in machine downtime;  15 – 30% improvement in labour productivity; 10 to 30% increase in throughput; and  10 to 20% decrease in the cost of quality. Industry 4.0 will enable us to decrease dependency on labour and create smart and intuitive products for the future with higher efficiency and productivity and low downtime.
