Stainless Academy, showcases Vans- an Initiative by Jindal Stainless

In an effort to efficiently showcase the various applications of stainless steel across a plethora of segments, Jindal Stainless developed 4 Vans. These vans also provide a benchmark reference to the fabricators about the possibilities. Rajeev Gupta, GM, Business Development, Jindal Stainless

Stainless steel is a material having unique advantages e.g. corrosion resistance, high strength, durability, etc. thereby providing value to customers in terms of long life; looks aesthetically good, doesn’t require paint, needs less maintenance etc.

Due to above advantages, usage of Stainless Steel is increasing in multiple sectors i.e. Architecture, Building & Construction (ABC); Automotive, Railway & Transportation (ART), Process Industry, White Goods etc. Many new applications and products have been developed in stainless steel and its usage is increasing day by day. To create awareness of possibilities of use of stainless steel in various applications, a platform was needed where consumers in both B2B & B2C segments can visualize and start exploring use of stainless steel to meet their needs at household & industrial level. Manufacturers or fabricators on the other hand also were seeking support in improving fabrication quality of stainless steel products.

With artificial intelligence in place, customer either is looking for information online or expects manufacturers to provide the same at their door step. Many companies have started providing virtual experience to customers through online portals to meet the demand of the Customers, however here also the challenge remained of touch and feel.

In an effort to efficiently showcase the various applications of stainless steel across a plethora of segments, Jindal Stainless developed 4 Vans (4th One introduced recently). They include display of several applications like tableware, cabinets, planters, gates & railings, water management applications, roofing sheets, shutters, chequered flooring, UV Printed SS Sheets, Special finishes and textures and miniature industry models and accessories (nuts, bolts, hinges etc.) and modern day smart city applications like foot over bridges, metros and stations, bus queue shelters, gas pipelines, building construction applications, electric smart poles etc.

These vans also provide a benchmark reference to the fabricators about the possibilities, quality and fabrication techniques of stainless steel in specific applications by giving them a live tour. These state of the art showcase vans traverse the length and breadth of the country, and continue to inspire fabricators and welders. These vans can be tracked online and invited by consumers for educational purposes. These vans cover following activities-

  1. Create Awareness of stainless steel amongst different type of household consumers for household applications (B2B2C Customers)
  2. Showcase various possibilities of stainless steel products in different segments
  3. Provide Onsite Training to Fabricators making household products in stainless steel and to persons manufacturing industrial products
  4. Do the market research for Stainless Steel products and identify the areas of consumer interest and accordingly promote more of those products and include it in our business development exercise.

These vans are being sent to following places for covering above activities and have covered more than 2 Lakh K.M. in last 4 Years pan India. 

  1. Skill India Programs- Fabricators Training – These vans provide onsite training & awareness programs being conducted pan India for both household fabricators and for Industrial training programs. Tools being carried in the van are used for display and demonstration at customer’s end.
  2. Exhibition & conference- Display vans are used in two ways in an exhibition & conference i.e. used as a readymade stall or for outdoor usage. Van itself is placed inside the exhibition hall and it works as a stall. In other case, it is parked in front of exhibition hall to attract visitors.
  3. Associations Office- We are dealing with multiple industries and all user industries have their association in single or multiple cities. It provides an interface with the association members and suggest. Further vans are utilized for doing joint activities with the association for promotion of stainless steel in their Industry.
  4. MSME – These vans support MSME in supporting them to develop products in stainless steel.
  5. OEMs/ Industrial Fabricators/ Channel Partners/ MoU Partners- Van are utilized for showcasing applications of stainless steel to officers and staff of Key OEMs/ Industrial Fabricators/ Channel Partners/MoU Partners.
  6. Engineering Institutes/Sector Specific Institutes/ ITI Colleges-Familiarize Students with applications of stainless steel, motivate them to do Stainless Steel Course & projects using Stainless Steel.
  7. For mall activation programs/ public display- During visits to various cities, display of vans to be managed at public places to showcase possibilities of stainless steel usage in various diversified applications.
