“The future of CE industry in India is very good”

1)The Government is making favourable policies to support the infrastructure growth in India as part of reform. So, what doors it opens for Construction Equipment sector?

Given that the government is currently investing in infrastructure projects towards the development of roads, highways and coal mining, this is expected to trigger the construction equipment (CE) business over the next 10 years. This will spur major growth for the Construction Equipment sector given the demand to develop rural infrastructure. We have also aligned our products to suit key government projects Like Bharatmala, Sagarmala, DFCC, irrigation projects, etc.

2) R&D contributes to the sustainability of a business, given that tell us in details about versatile product line and role of R& D to beat the competition.

Schwing Stetter India consistently works on delivering products that are user friendly and robust to suit the needs and demands of the Indian market. We have an in-house team for both panel building and software development and to that extent the customization is done based on the customers’ requirements.

Our advanced control systems help the customer right from initial quotation to production planning, the production of the concrete itself and the management of mixer and pump fleet, right through to the issuing of the invoice for the concrete delivered. Besides this the system can be integrated with peripheral equipment like weigh bridge, cement feeding system etc. which helps the customer in correlating of various statistics for production and accounting management inventory management / control etc. We have not only the capability of linking our system with the customer’s ERP system, but we also provide own ERP solution for smaller customers. All these are possible because of our in-house capability.

Presently, Schwing Stetter India’s focus is on providing cloud service and leveraging the usage of IoT for all its range of equipment. As of now these IoT features has been provided to some of the corporate customers and we are still working to make it available for all the customers. With this technology, the efficiency, utilization and proactive maintenance of the equipment can be done effectively. Still there are some challenges that we face due to lack of resource and infrastructure at some of the customer’s site. Still there are places where our equipment reaches but the network does not.

3)What are the recent trends and advances in the field of Construction Equipment sector?

Integrating Smartphone with the machine through IoT, GPS tracking, cloud computing based solutions, drones, augmented reality, virtual reality based training, robots, artificial intelligence, building roads with solar panels, building roads with plastic mix and building water absorbing roads to increase groundwater table are the emerging trends in construction equipment industry globally and in India. In line with this, Schwing Stetter has always been known for its innovative machines and for leveraging these advanced technologies in its products and services.

4)How do you see the future of CE industry in India and Road ahead for the company in the next few years?

The future of CE industry in India is very good. We would like to grow along with the infrastructure industry in the country. We would like to offer always the best in class products and supported with a World class service and parts support. 

5) Tell us about your preparation for Bauma Conexpo India. What excites about this show?

We at Schwing Stetter are eagerly anticipating the upcoming Bauma Conexpo exhibition as we will be launching a whole range of new products across many product verticals. The advantages of Bauma Conexpo India are that the joint stands enable small and medium-sized companies to find cooperation partners, and provide help in gaining a foothold in this large market. Also, the event offers one on one media interaction, buyer seller forum, book launch, awards ceremony, product demonstration area, conferences and an opportunity for signing MoU agreement amongst companies.
