VICAT FRANCE inaugurates its Cement Terminal in Mumbai under its Flagship brand “VICAT”

• 02nd rail based ZERO discharge (with NO Air & Water polution) cement terminal in Mumbai which has its own dedicated wagons with 24 hrs loading facility.
• It has 1.2 MTPA capacity and can store upto 12000 Tons cement at any point of time.
• This is first ever industry to have end-to-end logistic automation in India.

Mumbai, 20^th August 2018: Kalburgi Cement Company Pvt. Ltd. , 100 % subsidiary of VICAT France, has estabilsed 1.2 MTPA bulk cement terminal in Mumbai and Inaugurated today to cater the cement demand of rapidly growing Mumbai Megalopolis. This terminal is innaugurated by Mr. Guy Sidos, VICAT Group Chairman and CEO in presence Mr.  Markus Oberle , Chairman- VICAT INDIA and Mr. Anoop Kumar Saxena, CEO-VICAT INDIA.  With start of this terminal, Kalburgi Cement company has decided to launch the brand “VICAT”in India. This is flagship brand from France for last several decades in cement. Two products under brand VICAT are launched; VICAT OPTIMATE & VICAT DURAMATE. VICAT long term strategy in Indian Market is strengthened with the launch of VICAT brand, which is having 200 years trust and legacy in France, in Mumbai.

VICAT OPTIMATE is a premium quality OPC 53 grade cement from VICAT group. It has one of the best properties in its grade of cement. This product is manufactured using the best limestone available in Gulbarga cluster with optimum fineness and with low percentage of Alkalies, chlorides, magnesia which ensures better durability of the concrete structures. Due to development of high early compressive strength VICAT OPTIMATE provides lesser de-shuttering period, high early compressive strength of concrete and results in saving the cement consumption.

VICAT OPTIMATE is used in the construction of residential and commercial projects, concrete precast structures, roads and by major RMC manufacturers. This is choice of RMC players and it helps in making highly compressive design from concrete.

Another product VICAT DURAMATE is premium quality blended cement manufactured by inter grinding high quality clinker and the best quality High Reactive Silica (HRS) which is collected from Electro Static Precipitators (ESP) of power plants. VICAT DURAMATE generates reduced heat of hydration with lesser thermal shrinkage cracks. It offers high durability characteristics, particularly in hydraulic structures and marine constructions. VICAT DURAMATE has high fineness hence the conrete becomes more cohesive.

It is having 1.2 MTPA capacity and it can store upto 12000 Tons cement at any point of time.

Recently during visit of France President, Mr. Emmanuel Macron, to India, VICAT has announced investment of 223 million Euros which includes second line of 2.75MTPA capacity in exsting Kalburgi Cement Plant and also announced to establish a grinding unit of 1.7 MTPA capacity at Vizag in Andhra Pradesh to expand its footprint.

VICAT FRANCE is well known name gobally in cement industry. Histoy of group started in year 1817 when Mr. Louis VICAT invented artificial cement to build a bridge in Soiullac on France’s Dordgne river and thereafter legacy and expertise is developed by generation after generation. Today this group is led by 7^th generation of Mr. Louis VICAT.

Mr. Joseph VICAT, son of Mr. Louis VICAT started VICAT group by establshing 1^st plant in 1853 in France. Today the group operates in 11 countries namely Egypt, France, India, Italy, Kazakhstan, Mali, Mauritania, Senegal, Switzerland, Turkey, and United Staes. It has 15 integrated cement plants, 5 grinding units, 243 concrete batching plants and 69 aggregate quarries globally. It has turn over of 2600 million Euros with 8460 employees.

VICAT enters in India in 2008 after working for 10 years in India to findout a good partener. It had entered India in a joint venture with an Indian partener with proposal to establish an integrated plant. In year 2014, VICAT take 100% stake of joint venture and renamed it as Kalburgi Cement Pvt. Ltd.

During 2010, VICAT took another operating company Bharathi Cement with Indian partner having 5.5 Million Tons Per Annum (MTPA) capacity. It has an integrated cement plant consisting 2 lines in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh. Therefore, total capacity of group in India is 7.75 MTPA.

In the last 8 years, the company has expanded its markets in many new states in India and now it has operations in 8 states namely Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Mahashtra, Puducherry and Tamilnadu. It has strong network of 3300 dealers.
