Leading Today with Tomorrow in Mind
In a rapidly evolving business environment, effective leadership requires balancing immediate priorities with a clear vision for sustainable growth. At MS Agarwal Foundries, this approach is reflected in a strong focus on integrity, accountability, innovation, resilience and people development. The leadership shares insights into building a culture of ownership, preparing for uncertainty, strengthening organisational capabilities and creating lasting value while keeping the future firmly in focus.

1. What leadership principles have remained constant throughout your journey with MS Agarwal Foundries?
Integrity, accountability and staying connected to the ground have remained constant throughout my journey.
Markets change, technologies evolve and organisations grow, but trust continues to be the foundation of every sustainable business. At MS Agarwal Foundries, we believe commitments must be honoured—to our customers, our people and our partners.
I have always believed that leadership cannot operate only from the boardroom. Staying close to operations, listening to customers and understanding the realities faced by our teams lead to better decisions and stronger relationships.
For me, leadership is ultimately about taking responsibility—not only for business performance, but for building an organisation that creates lasting value.
2. How are you creating a work culture that encourages ownership, innovation and accountability?
Culture becomes powerful when people understand that they are not simply completing tasks—they are contributing to something larger.
At MSAF, we encourage our people to continuously identify opportunities to improve the way we work, bring forward new ideas and use technology and insights to make better decisions. Innovation does not always have to be transformational; a smarter process, improved customer experience or greater operational efficiency can create significant value.
At the same time, empowerment and accountability must go together. People should be empowered to make decisions within clear responsibilities and take ownership of outcomes.

When people take ownership beyond their individual responsibilities, organisations become stronger, faster and more innovative.
3. What is your approach to preparing the organisation for disruptions and uncertainty in the business environment?
We cannot predict every disruption, but we can build an organisation that is prepared to respond.
For us, resilience begins with strong business fundamentals—operational efficiency, technology adoption, supply-chain preparedness, market intelligence and capable people. We continuously strengthen these areas while remaining agile enough to respond to evolving market conditions and customer expectations.
Periods of change can also create opportunities to improve, innovate and rethink conventional approaches. The key is to remain prepared, responsive and willing to learn.
The organisations that will lead tomorrow are those that remain prepared, adaptable and confident in navigating change.
4. How do you balance short-term business decisions with the company’s long-term vision?
Every business must respond to immediate priorities, but those decisions must also support the capabilities required for long-term growth.
At MSAF, we look at major decisions through two lenses: what value does this create today, and what capability does it build for tomorrow?
This approach guides our investments in manufacturing, technology, quality, sustainability, people and customer relationships. Some initiatives create immediate value, while others strengthen the foundations for the years ahead.
As India continues its infrastructure and industrial growth journey, our focus is not simply on becoming bigger. Our ambition is to become stronger, more capable and more relevant to the India of tomorrow.
5. What personal and professional goals would you like to accomplish in the next phase of your journey?
My professional aspiration is to see MS Agarwal Foundries evolve into an even stronger, future-ready organisation—recognised for quality, innovation, reliability and responsible growth.
Beyond scale, I want us to continue strengthening our capabilities, developing future leaders and building an institution supported by capable people, strong systems and shared values.
Personally, I want to remain a student of business. Every stage of growth brings new challenges, new perspectives and new opportunities to learn.
Ultimately, I would like our journey to be defined not only by the scale of the business we build, but by the trust we earn, the leaders we develop and the contribution we make to India’s growth.
