Perkins showcases its latest power solutions at EXCON 2022

To showcase its latest power solutions and innovative technology, Perkins has taken part in the 11th edition of EXCON, the prestigious construction equipment fair at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, India. The company showed its industrial engine range and one electric power model at the five-day-long trade fair, enjoying the opportunity to interact with customers and end users.

Perkins participated in the exhibition along with its distributors GMMCO and Powerparts to show a series of innovative industrial engines. Among its highlights were the Perkins® 404D-22, a compact engine with multiple operations; the Perkins® 1104D-44TA, well-known for its smooth and quiet interface; the Perkins® 1206J-E44TA, which delivers a powerful performance and the Perkins® 4006E, one of its most popular engines for generator sets in India.

“After the pandemic and the lockdowns of the last couple of years, it was great to be back at EXCON, talking to people face-to-face and presenting our industrial and electric power engines,” said Pankaj Jha, general sales manager, Perkins India. “With the changing industry landscape, we always strive to offer world-class engines to all our customers, which meet applicable local emission standards while delivering low operation and installation costs, which help our OEMs to grow their business.”

Throughout the event, Perkins showcased:

  • 404D-22: Compact power solution

The 4 cylinder 404-22 model sits at the top of the 400 Series engine range, and is a compact power solution for off-highway applications in industrial, construction and agricultural industries. The engine is known for its reliability and easy service access, and offers excellent performance in power, peak and low-speed torque, fuel consumption, and transient response. The engine can meet different emissions standards whilst keeping the same core, enabling OEMs to install the same engine for a variety of functions.

  • 1104D-44TA: The smooth and quiet engine

The 1104, 4-cylinder engine, part of the Perkins® 1100 Series is a 4.4-litre powerhouse. The 1100 Series range has been specifically designed for use in territories with Stage II/IIIA and Tier 2/3 equivalent emission standards, using the right technologies to deliver a reliable and easy to maintain machine. It offers a choice of mechanical or electronically controlled common rail engines. Electronically controlled engines deliver the right fuel injection for the load applied to the engine. With a choice of naturally aspirated, turbocharged, and turbocharged aftercooled it offers the best combination of power delivery and response. This engine saw interest from backhoe loader manufacturers among others, who were keen to expand their overseas offering into lesser regulated territories.

  • 1206J-E44TA: Deliver the power you need, when you need it

The 1200 Series, 6-cylinder, gives a complete power solution that meets the latest EU Stage V/U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final emission standards, supporting OEM profitability. The engine is an ideal solution for heavy-duty operations, providing reliability, low operating costs, and outstanding performance to meet customers’ varied requirements, making it a ready-to-run robust engine that is ideally suited to equipment such as hydraulic excavators.

  • 4006E: Indian power source

The 4006E, is a versatile option for the power generation market. The engine delivers 750-900 kVA and is supplied with or without a radiator and air cleaner. With its the proven reliability, the engine, which is built in Aurangabad, has become synonymous with electric power that can be installed as a prime and standby source.  The 4006E engine is packed with features like exceptional power-to-weight ratios and compact designs. All of this makes the engine suitable to use across sectors, such as manufacturing facilities, hospitals, and data centres.
