Share with us your analytical views on the crane industry market, estimating the relative growth and demand potentials. 

In view of forthcoming new projects and expansion in port, metro and refinery projects (Up gradation from BS4 standard to BS6 standard), it is expected that there will be consistent demand of various kinds of cranes in 2019 and 2020. The lower capacity cranes i.e. below 100T capacity will account for 70% market share in total crane market. However, demand of higher capacity All terrain cranes will also be better than previous years.

Tell us about your recent recognized and on-going mega product innovations with the driving ideas to design them with their special features. 

At Sany we spend approx. 6-8% of our revenue on research and development. We continuously seek the feedback from our customers and market to improve our products. This is continuous process for improvement of products like up gradation of engines, chassis, hydraulics so that we can provide best product in the Industry to our clients. Apart from this, we are also working on telematics to provide value added services to our customers.

What is your business plan, in terms of expansion and development, for the progressive year-2019?

We have already started manufacturing of 25 T, 45T, 60 T and 80 T truck cranes at our Pune factory and going forward we may add some all-terrain cranes which will be manufactured from Pune. This will help us in providing better and faster solution to our customers from India. We foresee a good demand, going forward in these category cranes and we have according geared up our production line to cater to this increased requirement. 

What changes are your anticipating in the business arena, as the formation of the new government is around the corner?

Projects which are already on ground will continue to be implemented. We are also positive on new govt. and believe that the priority to boost the infrastructure sector in India will continue.
